Just 20 minutes form the campsite, passing through the Ibie valley, you will arrive at the mythical village of\u00a0Vallon Pont d\u2019Arc\u00a0from where you can canoe down the fabulous\u00a0Gorges de l\u2019Ard\u00e8che. You will find natural landscapes of outstanding beauty, such as\u00a0Balcon des Templiers\u00a0or the\u00a0Cirque de la Madeleine. You will also be able to visit the\u00a0Ard\u00e8che caves\u00a0and the replica of the Chauvet Cave \u201cThe Grotte Chauvet 2\u201d, one of France\u2019s most beautiful decorated caves and granted\u00a0UNESCO\u00a0world heritage status.\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nIn the mountainous northern Ard\u00e8che lies the\u00a0<strong>Monts d'Ard\u00e8che Regional Nature Park<\/strong>. Just 70 kilometres from the campsite, it is home to the renowned\u00a0<strong>Mont Gerbier de Jonc<\/strong>\u00a0(a mountain of volcanic origin), source of the\u00a0<strong>Loire<\/strong>, as well as the \u2018route des Sucs\u2019 (famous cycle route) and numerous waterfalls such as the\u00a0<strong>\u201cRay Pic\u201d<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nThe Ard\u00e8che has a rich heritage with its picturesque villages, like\u00a0<strong>Vogu\u00eb, Balazuc, Monr\u00e9al, or Antra\u00efgues sur Volane<\/strong>: home of the late famous French poet, Jean Ferrat. Exceptional cuisine and fabulous local produce await you, such as chestnut pur\u00e9e, goat's cheese or caillette (regional meatball dish). Once you have tried it, you\u2019ll be hooked! Situated some ten kilometres from Villeneuve de Berg, be sure not to miss out on the remains of the old Gallo-Roman town,\u00a0<strong>Alba la Romaine<\/strong>.
